Zinc Ingot Suppliers

Zinc Ingot Overview

Zinc ingot is a refined zinc metal product cast into solid blocks for industrial use. It is one of the most widely traded non-ferrous metals in the world, underpinning supply chains in construction, automotive manufacturing, electronics, and energy storage.

Zinc ingots are produced primarily through the electrolytic process, in which zinc concentrate is roasted to form zinc oxide, leached in sulfuric acid, purified, and then recovered through electrolysis — yielding high-purity zinc of 99.99% or greater.

A secondary production route, the pyrometallurgical process, uses high-temperature smelting to produce lower-grade zinc from concentrate or secondary feedstock. The resulting molten zinc is cast into standardized ingot molds.

As a raw material, zinc ingot is essential wherever corrosion resistance, conductivity, and alloying properties are required in industrial processing.

Applications of Zinc Ingot

Zinc ingot is a foundational industrial raw material consumed across a broad range of manufacturing and processing sectors. Its corrosion resistance, low melting point, and alloying versatility make it indispensable in the following industries:

Galvanized Steel Production

The largest single application of zinc ingot globally. Hot-dip galvanization coats steel with a protective zinc layer, preventing corrosion in construction, infrastructure, and automotive components.

Die Casting

Zinc’s low melting point and dimensional accuracy make it ideal for high-volume die casting of automotive parts, hardware components, electrical housings, and consumer goods.

Brass and Bronze Alloy Manufacturing

Zinc is a primary alloying element in brass production, used extensively in plumbing fittings, valves, electrical connectors, and decorative hardware.

Battery Manufacturing

Zinc ingot is used in the production of dry cell batteries and zinc-air batteries, with growing demand from energy storage applications in renewable energy systems.

Zinc Oxide Production

Processed zinc ingot is converted to zinc oxide for use in rubber vulcanization, ceramics, pharmaceuticals, and agricultural applications.

Electroplating and Surface Finishing

High-purity zinc is used to electroplate steel and other metals, providing corrosion protection and surface quality for industrial and consumer products.

Zinc Ingot Suppliers FAQ

What is zinc ingot used for?

Zinc ingot is the primary raw material for galvanized steel, die casting, brass alloy production, battery manufacturing, zinc oxide processing, and electroplating across industrial sectors.

What purity grades of zinc ingot are available?

We supply zinc ingot in three principal grades: Special High Grade (SHG) at ≥99.99% purity, standard grade at ≥99.5% purity, and industrial grade at ≥98.7% purity. The appropriate grade depends on your end application — SHG is required for electronics, batteries, and precision galvanization, while lower grades are suitable for alloy and oxide production.

Do you export zinc ingots internationally?

Yes. Ikutha Forge Company Limited exports zinc ingots to buyers across Africa, Asia, Europe, and the Middle East. We offer FOB, CIF, CFR, and CIP shipping terms and manage all export documentation including certificate of origin, packing list, commercial invoice, bill of lading, and third-party inspection certificates where required.

What is the minimum order quantity for zinc ingots?

Our standard minimum order quantity is 25 metric tons per shipment. Higher volume orders and long-term supply contracts are available, with volume-based pricing for committed annual quantities. Please provide your target quantity and destination when submitting an inquiry.
