Lithium Ore Supplier
Lithium Ore Overview
Lithium ore is the mined mineral feedstock from which lithium compounds primarily lithium carbonate (Li₂CO₃) and lithium hydroxide are extracted for use in battery manufacturing, glass and ceramics production, metallurgical applications, and industrial lubricants.
Hard-rock lithium ore is sourced from pegmatite deposits and consists principally of lithium-bearing silicate minerals, the most commercially significant of which is spodumene (LiAlSi₂O₆). Other important ore minerals include petalite and lepidolite. Mined ore is crushed and milled, then upgraded through froth flotation to produce spodumene concentrate with elevated Li₂O content.
The concentrate is subsequently roasted to convert alpha-spodumene to the more reactive beta phase, then leached with sulfuric acid to extract lithium in solution, which is precipitated as lithium carbonate or hydroxide for downstream battery and chemical manufacturing.
As the primary raw material for the global lithium supply chain, lithium ore is one of the most strategically significant industrial minerals of the current decade.
Applications of Lithium Ore
Lithium ore is the foundational raw material for one of the fastest-growing sectors in global industrial supply. After processing into lithium carbonate or lithium hydroxide, the material derived from hard-rock lithium ore is consumed across the following industries:
Lithium-Ion Battery Manufacturing
This is the dominant application, now accounting for approximately 90% of global lithium demand. Lithium ore concentrate is processed into battery-grade lithium compounds used in cathode active materials for EV batteries, consumer electronics, and grid-scale energy storage systems. Every electric vehicle contains a significant quantity of lithium derived directly from mined ore.
Glass and Ceramics
Lithium carbonate derived from ore is used as a flux in specialty glass and ceramic manufacturing, improving thermal shock resistance, reducing melting temperatures, and enhancing surface finish. Applications include glass-ceramic cooktops, laboratory glassware, and architectural glass.
Metallurgy and Aluminum Alloys
Lithium is added to aluminum alloys in aerospace and automotive manufacturing to reduce weight while maintaining structural strength. It also serves as a flux in steel production.
Industrial Lubricants
Lithium hydroxide is the base for lithium-complex greases widely used in automotive, industrial machinery, and high-temperature bearing lubrication. This remains a stable, long-established demand segment.
Pharmaceuticals and Air Treatment
Minor but consistent demand exists for lithium compounds in psychiatric pharmaceutical manufacturing and in CO₂ scrubbing systems for submarines and spacecraft — both of which rely on lithium ore-derived feedstock.

Lithium Ore Suppliers FAQ
Lithium ore is the primary raw material for lithium compounds used in lithium-ion battery manufacturing, which accounts for approximately 90% of global lithium demand. Additional applications include specialty glass and ceramics, aluminum alloys for aerospace, industrial lubricants, and pharmaceutical manufacturing. The battery sector driven by electric vehicles and grid storage is the dominant and fastest-growing end market.
We supply raw hard-rock lithium ore typically ranging from 2% to 5% Li₂O, and spodumene concentrate grading 6% to 8% Li₂O, with higher-grade material available on request. All material is accompanied by an independent assay report confirming Li₂O content and key impurities including Fe₂O₃, Al₂O₃, and SiO₂.
Our primary lithium ore mineral is spodumene (LiAlSi₂O₆), the most widely processed hard-rock lithium mineral for battery-grade compound production. We also supply petalite and lepidolite where available. Mineral type and composition are confirmed in the assay documentation provided with each shipment.
Lithium ore is packaged in 50kg polypropylene bags, one-tonne FIBC big-bags, or loaded in bulk into 20-foot ISO containers at up to 28 MT per container. Moisture-control packaging is applied as required. All shipments are accompanied by weight certificates, assay reports, and complete export documentation.
Yes. Ikutha Forge Company Limited exports lithium ore to buyers across Africa, Asia, Europe, and the Middle East under FOB, CIF, and CFR shipping terms. Full export documentation is provided with every shipment including assay certificate, SGS inspection report, certificate of origin, and bill of lading.
